Please pray for my dog....

We found out yesterday that our puppy Socks has parvo. He is not doing well. We are a complete mess. Unless things turn around, we don't think he'll last the week. Watching him struggle like this is one of the hardest things we've had to do. We are so worried about him.

I have reached a milestone.

Yesterday, I bought a new bra. That's right. In just shy of 8 weeks, I have grown a whole cup size. Yikes. I wonder how big the girls will get to be by delivery? Pin It

Too many prayer requests lately...

Please send up a prayer for our dear friend Kenny. His mother, Carol, passed away from lung cancer about twenty minutes ago. He could really use our support.

Rest in Peace, Carol. You will be missed. Pin It

Almost forgot...

When we had the ultrasound yesterday, the tech noticed a "pretty good sized" cyst on my right ovary. The nurse practioner did not seem concerned, and she said its common in early pregnancy. So therefore I am not too worried either.

I go back in 4 more weeks for another ultrasound to check on the cyst. While I am not happy I have a cyst, I am happy to get another ultrasound!

Anyone with any experiance with cysts during pregnancy, please comment with your story! Pin It

7 weeks

Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Second OB appointment

And we have a heartbeat!!! The meatball is still too little for us to hear it, but we could clearly see it on the ultrasound, flickering away at 150 bpm.

Holy Cow! There's really a baby in there!
Our little meatball is measuring 1.31 cm and is exactly where s/he should be! No ectopic for me!

One Year

I can't believe its already been a year since our wedding! It seems like just a few weeks ago I was frantically putting together programs! Nothing much has changed (other than the meatball) since being married. I love you, Scott!

Prayers requested

Please pray for my sister-in-law Debi. She has been fighting breast cancer for the last four years, with no remission. This week brought even more complications, and it isn't looking good for her. We pray for Debi, her husband Jon, their duaghters Madison and Mackenzie, and the rest of Scotts family.

They need your strength, your prayers, and your faith. Pin It

6 Weeks, 0 Days

Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.
Our little Sweet Pea is the size of a Sweet Pea! I love it!

Aliza - A Pimpin Post

So, I have a very dear friend named Aliza. She was the Maid of Honor in my wedding, you may remeber her son Ari from my aching ovaries posts. Aliza is an esthetician. She recently opened her "own" esthetics room at Panache Salon. It is very much like opening her own business. She had to establish contacts and set up a product line, create and design her own spa menu, purchase her own equipment and set her hours and prices. I am soooo excited for her I can't even stand it! So next time you need a facial or waxing, slide on into Panache Salon on 7th st and Missouri. Aliza will take awesome care of you!

5 weeks, 1 day

Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

Not really feeling it yet....

I haven't really been feeling very pregnant yet. However, I think thats pretty normal for only 4wks along. I think it's even harder because the "symptoms" I do feel are just as easily explained by quitting smoking. Increased appetite, low energy, headaches, etc. Today however, I think I had my first glimpse of morning sickness. I was luckky enough to be able to ride it out without getting sick, but there were a few false alarms this morning that sent me running to the bathroom. I was really hoping there wouldn't be anyone in there, can you imagine trying to explain that? I don't have an eating disorder, I swear! Anyway, I bumped back my usual lunchtime, and that seemed to do the trick. I think I'm going to pick up the Sea Bands today. Hopefully that'll help tons.

I took a quick "Bump Shot" (hahaha, theres no bump yet) to have a comparison for when I get much farther along.

Ta da!!

4 Weeks, 1 Day

Week 4
In week 3, sperm meets egg and voila: conception!
Your little zygote sets off on a six-day trek through your fallopian tubes, dividing and redividing into individual cells as it travels to your uterus.
In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.

Yesterday Sucked.

Today, not so bad!

I really really really wanted to kill people yesterday. It took all my will power not to scream at the idiots on the phone who kept pronouncing my name wrong.

Today, i think I'm doing all right. I keep having to remind myself that no, it is not time for a cigarette, and no I don't need to stop and get some on the way home. But all in all, I'm doing all right!

I think I'm going to make it!

Two days, smoke free! Pin It
