It was ok...

The daycare was fine. Nothing really awesome stood out for us, but we weren't repelled by anything major. Oh, the playground is all sand, no grass, which stinks. But whatever. It's hard to say anything definite because this was our first tour, so we have nothing (except the montessori school I used to work at - $1250 month for infant care - not an option) to compare it to.

They didn't have an answer for us on the cloth diapers. I am epecting to hear from the director who was out today. Being able to bring in the cloth diapers is a total deal breaker for us, so I hope that they are willing to work with us on it. I guess only time will tell! Otherwise, I wouldn't be happy sending meatball there for years to come, but it will meet all their needs until they are one.

If anyone has any local recommendations for infant care (in-home or center) please let me know!!! Pin It

Mya - where are you located again?? Sorry I can;t remember - Anyway - I was going to say.. What about a nanny?? I know some are pretty low cost and you can background check them etc? or find one off a site specifically for that? I know Nanny's could be a little more than the 160 a week but it beats paying 1250 a month (ouch). And they would do what you wanted with cloth diapering and such.. :0)
And BTW I think its great that you cloth diaper - I really wish I would have considered it with T - but I didn't know to much about it. I think for our next I will be exploring this route. Way cheaper than buying diapers Dang IT!!

The afterschool program at my SS's school is all sand. (He's 9 y/o). Doing his laundry is the worst! He has to take his shoes AND socks off outside to dump them out. He has to shake his shoes and dump them like 10 times repeatedly to get all the sand out. The insides of his socks are filled with sand too! And all of his cargo shorts pockets are full of sand. It's ridiculous. I've asked him, "Do you roll around in the sand when you're on the playground? Seriously?". LOL.

Jenni - I'm almost in Tempe, but work in N Scottsdale. Scott work sright off the 51 and Glendale. We were hoping to find something in that area because I drive past his work on the way to mine. We can't really afford much more that $160/wk, so I think a nanny is pretty much out for us. :( The $1250 isn't an option either, its just that if daycare were free, that is where I would send LO. Obviously, its not. AND I hope you do cloth diaper next time!

Samantha - lol most of my issues with the sand was the mess! And while we were there we saw jackets and sweaters that had been left on the sidewalk just covered in sand. Yuck! I def do not want to be dealing with that!

Ok, what is this all about cloth diapering? I know I haven't been following your blog as closely as I'd like to, but you have to elaborate! I wore cloth diapers as a baby, but I was under the impression that they were messy and leaky. I KNOW you wouldn't put up with that, so please explain! I'd love (someday) to be able to be earth friendly.

Ok... I'm pretty much obsessed now. Thanks for creating a new fan. Now, I just have to get married and get pregnant!

LOL! Am I the only someday-mother-to-be that reads your blog? I bet not, but I must say I do enjoy it!

I don't think you're alone. I know of at least two others!
