Petrified Forest, Painted Desert

New Years weekend, we decided to take a little mini vacation, so we headed up to Flagstaff with our friends Alexus and Tressel. We went to the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert. It was interesting, because while we had all been here before, none of us had been in the snow! It was completely different, and absolutely breathtaking!

Here are some of the photos that Tressel took.

The wonders of Mexico!

Welcome to our temporary slice of paradise! I love this place!
Can I just say how proud of myself I am? I decided that since this is the only time I am guaranteed to be this visibly pregnant and in Mexico. So I pulled out my trusty bikini, and braved the beach! (I have pics, will upload later)

I'll have more updates later, the wireless here sucks at best. Pin It

Recovery

I discovered this morning that there is such a thing as a sympathy hangover. I had not one drop of alcohol, but my body feels otherwise. I have what I will call a pregnancy hangover. This is what happens when you keep a pregnant lady out til after 3 am, feed her crappy bar food, and not supply sufficient water. Blech.

However, last night was awesome! We had a rockin time! Everyone (including sober me) ended up on the bar. I had my first Non-Alcoholic beer (which, surprisingly tasted exactly like Bud Light), and later the girls started buying me "shots" of Sprite, so that I could at least cheers with them, even if I couldn't drink with them. Our bartender, Nate, was such an awesome sport. He was playing right along, and didn't cut any one off! Even when we all got on the bar.

We started out bowling. I threw 3 strikes! Unfortunately, one was on Colleen's turn, so I don't have proof. I took a picture of the score card (please note my final score) to document my awesome bowling skills.

Thats right. A whopping 56. Its unbelievable.

And a picture that sort of sums up my portion of the evening.

Aaaah. Near beer through a straw. A penis straw, of course.

We took so many other more awesome photos, but this is when my camera died... So I'll do another post when I get pics from Donna.

Life is good

I am sitting here in the hotel with the window open. I can hear a lawn mower down the street, and there is a hint of a breeze. I ran down and got some quick stuff from the continental breakfast, and it hit the spot. I love Frosted Flakes! Scott is still sleeping, so I'm taking advantage of the quiet time to catch up on the blogroll. I am very much looking forward to the spa today. I can just picture it now.

All in all, everything seems very peaceful. Pin It

We made it!

We are here, safe and sound. It has been an incredibly long day for us, and I am running very low on energy. I thought the exhaustion was supposed to end when you got to 2nd tri?

We had a layover in Minneapolis, so we met my Aunt Lynn for lunch. It was great to see her, and I'm glad we were able to make it work.

Once we landed in Appleton, Matt took us to go get checked in to out hotel . So far we are unimpressed, but it really isn't all that bad. Then we met with Donna and her friends for chinese buffet. Yum!!!

Now, I am fighting to keep my eyes open! Tomorrow we hit the spa. I am soooooo excited! I really cannot even tell you how much I have been looking forward to this. Pin It

And We're Off!

We are just finishing up the last minor packing to head out to Wisconsin! I am so excited!!! I need a vacation. Gotta go! Out ride is here! Pin It

Appleton, WI

Well, we made it! We landed in Appleton (after a mad dash through the Minneapolis airport - I am out of shape!) late Friday night. I felt kind of important when we landed in Appleton, cause we flew on a little plane. So little we had to take the stairs to get off! Just like in the movies!

I am soooo excited to be here! Scott's very dear friends Mike and Kori are getting married next weekend, and we are here for that. Donna and Matt are getting married, too (but not until May 09) so we worked it all out, and had her shower yesterday! I can't tell you how great it was to be able to be a part of it! I'm so glad we were able to have while Scott and I are visiting.
Donnas shower went really well! About 40 friends and family members came to The Gardens to help celebrate with Donna. And Donna made off with a ton of loot! If I hadn't already known she loves to cook, I would have figured it out by gift number 3! She left with everything you could possibly imagine for your kitchen! She got new pots, pans, cutlery, wine glasses, griddle, turkey roaster, deep fryer, steamer, corningware sets, the list goes on and on! I don't even know what to do with most of that stuff! Today we bought corn. Those of you who have known me for a while may know that I LOVE corn. And I was not going to pass up any chance to have corn picked fresh from the farm! So we bought a dozen ears (for $4!!) from a man at the local skating rink out of the back of his truck. And he looked exactly like you would imagine he did. I felt very rural. We're having a cookout tomorrow, and I'm making my cheese dip!

before I forget...
Mya's Fantastic Dip
Supplies:
1 Big Block of Velveeta
1 can Hormel Chili (No Beans)
2 cans Rotel Diced tomatoes w/ Green chiles
Crockpot

Cube velveeta into crock pot.
Add chili and tomatoes.
Cook on high, stirring intermittently.
It should take about 2 hours. It's done when it looks like dip, not like vomit (gross, but true)
(*****if you don't have a crock pot, follow same directions, simply microwave in 5 min increments, stirring in between until consistency is right******)
That's it!
Moving on, back to vacation.
We did a mini driving tour of Appleton, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We drove by the church that Matt and Donna will be married in, and went to their reception site as well.

They were both beautiful! We also drove around the lake and looked at the incredible houses on Doty Island. Talk about mansions!
