101 in 1001 - Goal #78 and #93 Completed

Goal # 93 - Take Wyatt too the zoo

I'm a little behind on this one, but we''ve been to 3 zoos now. The Phoenix, San Fransisco and San Diego. We went to the SF Zoo before we got our new camera, so no pics from there, but here are some pics from the other 2.

101 in 1001 - Goal #10 Completed

Goal #10: Cloth diaper for a year.

We have officially cloth diapered Wyatt for 18 months, and still going strong.

I love cloth diapering. I am so glad that we made this choice. It's simple, its easy, and it's friendly on the environment, and our wallets! I will say that we do use sposies (disposables) as well, but only at night, and while our AIO are in the wash. We use them at night because I haven't been able to find a cloth dipe that will handle Wyatts heavy night wetting. We use the BG 3.0 Organic OS AIO (Bum genius organic one size all in ones) and they are fab. The fit from 10 to 35 pounds, which means he will wear the same diapers until he is potty trained. And I was just thining the other day that they are in really good shape for being used and abused for 18 months!

Some of the benefits:
  • We have only had to change our diaper dekor refill once in 18 months (thanks Jaye!)
  • We buy one box of diapers every 3 months or so, rather than a economy sized box each month.
  • Wyatt has very ffew diaper rashes, and if he does get one, it is very easily managed, usually with just a little baby powder. But if we do need some diaper cream, I use Grandma Els. A little pricey, but totally worth it. I got a starter pack from Baby Steals before Wyatt is born. It came with a travel tube, a tub, and some baby wash. The baby wash went very quickly. BUT I haven't even used a quarter of the tub, and I even gave the travel tube to a friend who uses CDs! LOVE This stuff!
  • NO leaky diapers. The only time Wyatt leaks through a diaper, is at night, but he's out for 8 hours, and a heavy night wetter.
The list goes on, but my time is short. Moral of the story, I am so glad we decided to try this, and we will do it again with the next one!! Pin It

Valentines Day

This year was a little different for us. We are not huge fans of this particular Hallmark holiday, so we don't usually make a big fuss. Well, I guess its not that different after all.

This was the first night that Scott and I were able to go out as a couple alone. We left Wyatt with my parents and headed to Red Lobster. Yum! After dinner we went and drank a couple beers and threw some darts. Just like old times. It was really nic to be able to reconnect as a couple again.

I got Scott his first professional massage! He liked it (of course) so I have high hopes that we may have a couples massage in our future!

Being the awesome husband that he is, Scott gave me this.

Thats right. A peas out onesie for Wyatt to wear! Isn't it the cutest thing you have ever seen?! It's also SUPER soft, all organic bamboo and it literally feels like silk! I can't wait for him to wear it!!!
(Cross another date night off!)

Goal # 18 - Send Christmas Cards (1/2)

Jamie did an awesome job designing our Christmas cards this year! I cannot tell you what I would do without her and her awesome skillz! I wanted something festive, but that couls also double as a birth announcement. No point in sending two cards at the same time!

101 in 1001 - Goal #25 Complete

Goal #25 - Host Thanksgiving!

We had a few good friends over for Thanksgiving dinner last night. We had a blast!
The turkey came out perfectly! I cannot express how amazingly good and easy it was! We are going to make it every year from now on. Scott was saying that we should make turkey all the time now, just because. In case you missed it, we made the Roast Turkey from Good Eats by Alton Brown.

I also made Tylers Mashed Potatoes. These were literally the best potatoes I have ever eaten, and they were insanely easy!

All in all, I think it was a huge success!! Pin It

101 in 1001 - Goal #22 In Progress

Goal #22 - Take the dogs to the park once a month (weather permitting)
11/14/09 - We met Scotts parents at one of our favorite dog parks. They brought 3 of their dogs, and we all had a great time! Wyatt slept through the whole experiance, which is to be expected!
Usually when we go to the dog park, Kissa is making rounds at the perimeter, and Socks is attached to our heels. Ever since we brought Wyatt home, Socks' personality has changed (mellowed?) drastically. Yesterday he was running everywhere, making friends with all the new dogs! It was awesome. We def need to do this more often!
12/27/09 - We went to our usual spot with Scotts parents again. Wyatt managed to stay awake this time, and he was even smiling at his Grandma!

101 in 1001 - Goal #94 In Progress

Goal #94 - Take Webster to 10 different parks in AZ.

Yesterday we had lunch at Devonshire park, in central Phoenix. It wasn't anything super special, but there were lots of trees and a frisbee golf course (which Scott was super excited about). Wyatt wasn't super impressed (he ate or slept the whole time) but we were at the park! We even took the dogs!
